The first few hundred yards of a golf walk is always an interesting hike. Depending on the opening tee ball, those steps can either be easy and confident or frantic and shaky. How we start doesn’t always determine how we finish, but it damn sure sets the tone. The path up the fairway is highly desirable while the hazard laden routes are riddled with demons. A good start can yield early confidence. Especially while opponents are wandering through the woods. Don’t let your guard down though, the next shot still requires a good swing. There’s no better place to make it from though. It feels good to walk tall on the short grass.
